Abstract:

The role of telegraph in Turkish War of Independence is well known. The same argument cannot be put forward for the institution which brought and spread this technology to the country. The Ministry of Postal Service celebrated 68th year of its foundation when the Young Turk Revolution had been realized. The subjects and debates after the Revolution, made it clear that there were no improvement in terms of institutionalization and professionalization. This paper, in the context of these debates seeks to evaluate the reforms realized in the ministry of postal services and the results of these reforms. The paper also seeks to come up with new questions and problems related to this field
