Abstract:

Contemporary educational management approaches expect school principals to have various leadership skills. One of these skills is the management of the school in cooperation by distributing the leadership to qualified people under appropriate conditions. One of these skills is to distribute the leadership to the appropriate people under appropriate conditions and to do it in cooperation with the school administration. Contemporary approaches emphasize the distribution of leadership to all stakeholders according to their expertise. In this direction, it is predicted that teachers will take more responsibility and carry their educational organizations forward, and their organizational commitment will increase as they participate in the management and decision-making processes where they will be willing to participate in tasks. In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the distributed leadership behaviors of school principals working in primary schools and the organizational commitment of teachers according to the opinions of teachers. The Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The perceptions of the teachers participating in the research on the distributed leadership behaviors of the school principals were above the average, and their organizational commitment was at a moderate level. In the study, a positive and moderately significant relationship was found between distributed leadership and organizational commitment.
