Abstract:

Today, the most commercialized genetically modified agricultural products are corn, tomatoes, cotton, canola and soya beans. This study focuses on the assessment of the yield and production costs of genetically modified Egyptian harvest. When the economic assessment was made, profitability factors were taken into account, the quality of the harvest and the yield. There is no difference in demand between agricultural products. The subject of the potential economic effects of genetically modified seeds is prepared to cover as much as possible both the positive and negative perspectives. In the introductory section of the study, the basic theoretical information on genetic change was given to the subject of how the genetics of the seed was modified, the cost, the yield increased or not. The first section provides general information on the Genetically Modified (GD) seed market. In the second part, the economic assessment was carried out on the basis of genetically modified Egypt. This section examines the economic theoretical model designed by Gerald C. Nelson for the operation of the seed market. In the third section, genetically modified Egypt’s profitability assessment was placed. In the fourth section, the result was shared by the business size and risks of the subject.
