Abstract:

As a natural consequence of the increase number of faculty of divinities and student quotas in Turkey has increased the number of graduated persons from faculty of divinities. This condition causes unemployment anxiety in students of divinity faculty. The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between unemployment anxiety and intrinsic religious motivation in students of divinity faculty. In addition, the relationships between some demographic variables, unemployment anxiety and intrinsic religious motivation were also examined. Unemployment Anxiety Scale and Intrinsic Religious Motivation Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Frequency, correlation, t-test, one-way Anova and regression analysis were applied to analyze the data. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, the following conclusions have been reached. The unemployment anxiety of men is significantly higher than that of women. Women's GPA and intrinsic religious motivation are significantly higher than men's. Unemployment anxiety levels of those studying in upper grades are significantly higher than those of lower grades. In the study, a significant negative relationship was found between intrinsic religious motivation and unemployment anxiety. Research has revealed that religion has a positive effect on coping with unemployment anxiety.
