Abstract:

The processes of development in the physical and virtual products of the digital environment have a significant impact on the means of mass communication. These effects seen on mass communications means have created different meanings in internet publishing through a compatible design. On the other hand, it has provided numerous opportunities for a variety of environments that can work freely regardless of features such as compatible design, device, operating system and resolution. This study aimed at examining the relevant design system through the historical background of mass communications tools. Therefore, the study conducted an extensive scan of the area aimed at examining the scope and historical development of the relevant tools of compatible design. The first part of the study focused on the adaptation of mass communication tools and the compilation of online environmental processes through historical backgrounds. In the second part of the study, the compatible design concept was studied to understand their connections with the media and online possibilities. In the third part, today’s mass media design systems have been used for the purpose of being able to sample the current compatible design methods. The review results show that the institutions and organizations that actively use new media technologies have also defined the next generation of publishing methods in different fields.

These effects created different meanings on online publishing through responsive design mechanisms. On the other hand, responsive design provided many opportunities to various environments that can operate freely regardless of device, operation system or resolution features. The study was aimed to explore this design system through historical background of mass media. Therefore, a broad range of literature was reviewed to examine the coverage and historical development of mass media together with the responsive design. In the first part of the study, main adaptation to online environment processes of mass media considered to review through its historical development. In the second part, responsive design term examined to understand connections with mass media and its online possibilities. Then in the third part, latest mass media design systems are used to exemplify recent responsive design methodology. The review results showed that institutions and organizations that actively use new media technologies are also defines next generation publishing methods on different areas.
