En etkin okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarından biri olarak kabul edilen müzeler son dönemde güvenlik endişesi ile giderek ağırlaştırılan yasal mevzuat, ulaşım ve güvenlik sorunları, zaman darlığı ve ekonomik nedenlerle eğitimde yeteri kadar kullanılamamaktadır. Müze ve tarihi mekân gezilerinde yaşanabilecek zorlukların birçoğunu ortadan kaldıran ve pandemi sürecinde önemi daha iyi anlaşılan sanal müzelerin farklı eğitim kademelerinde ve derslerde sınıf içi etkinliklere nasıl entegre edilebileceği ve mevcut sanal müzelerin eğitsel açıdan değerlendirilmesi konusunda öğretmenlerimiz yeterli bilgiye sahip değillerdir. Bu durumdan hareketle çalışmanın amacı yaratıcı drama ve oyunlaştırma içeren sanal müze eğitimi uygulaması ile katılımcıların sanal müze uygulamalarına yönelik etkinlik geliştirme ve sanal müze uygulamalarının mevcut sınıf içi etkinliklere entegrasyon becerilerinin, eğitimde sanal müze kullanımı farkındalık düzeylerinin ve sanal müzeleri eğitsel açıdan değerlendirme becerilerinin geliştirilmesidir. Çalışmanın hedef kitlesini İstanbul ili sınırları içerisindeki ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde görev yapan tarih, coğrafya, sosyal bilgiler, görsel sanatlar ve sınıf öğretmenleri ile yine bu branşlarda İstanbul ilindeki üniversitelerde lisansüstü eğitim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma bulguları; katılımcılara verilen eğitimlerin katılımcıların eğitimde sanal müze kullanımına yönelik farkındalık düzeylerinde olumlu yönde katkı sağladığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca yapılan etkinlikler katılımcıların sanal müzeleri eğitsel açıdan değerlendirme becerilerini geliştirdiğini ve katılımcıların iyi bir sanal müzeden beklentilerini yükselttiğini ortaya koymaktadır.

The museums, considered to be one of the most effective out-of-school learning environments, have not been sufficiently used in education due to increasingly aggravated legal legislation, transport and security issues, time shortages and economic reasons. Our teachers do not have sufficient knowledge about how virtual museums can be integrated into classmates in different educational stages and classes, which eliminate many of the difficulties that can be experienced in the museums and historical spaces and better understand the importance of the pandemic process, and the educational assessment of existing virtual museums. The aim of the work from this situation is to develop the practices of the virtual museum training, which includes creative drama and playmaking, and the skills of the participants to develop the activities towards the virtual museum practices and to integrate the virtual museum practices into the existing classroom events, the levels of awareness of the use of the virtual museum in education and the skills of educational evaluation of the virtual museums. The target audience of the study is the history, geography, social information, visual arts and class teachers who work in the primary, secondary and high school within the borders of Istanbul and students who are graduated in the universities in the province of Istanbul in these branches. Research findings show that the training given to the participants has contributed positively to the level of awareness of the participants’ use of the virtual museum in the training. The events also show that participants have developed their skills to evaluate virtual museums in an educational perspective and that participants have raised their expectations from a good virtual museum.

Considered one of the most effective out-of-school learning environments, museums are not being used sufficiently in education due to legal regulations, which have recently been aggravated by security concerns, transportation and security problems, time constraints, and economic reasons. Virtual museums, eliminate many of the difficulties that can be experienced in physical museums and historical site visits, and teachers’ knowledge of how to integrate them into classroom activities at different education levels and courses, and how to evaluate existing virtual museums from an educational point of view is limited. This case study aims to improve the participants' abilities to develop activities for virtual museum applications and to integrate virtual museum applications into existing classroom activities, to evaluate virtual museums from an educational point of view as well as increase their awareness levels towards the use of virtual museums in education, through the virtual museum training application that includes creative drama and gamification. The target group of the study consists of history, geography, social studies, visual arts, and primary teachers working in primary, secondary, and high schools within the borders of Istanbul, and students who receive postgraduate education at universities in Istanbul in these disciplines. Research findings reveal that the training contributed positively to the awareness levels of the participants regarding the use of virtual museums in education, improved the participants' skills in evaluating virtual museums from an educational point of view, and increased the participants' expectations of a good virtual museum.
