Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the relationship between school managers’ transformative leadership behaviors and teachers’ organizational extinction levels according to teachers’ perceptions. The universe of research consists of all teachers who work in high school, high school and primary school in Diyarbakır or central districts (Kayapınar, Bağlar, Yenişehir and Sur). The sample was determined according to the sample collection technique and in this scope 456 participants were evaluated by applying the transformative leadership and organizational extinction scale. In data analysis, standard deviation, arithmetic average, Anova and t-test were used. The study found that there was a meaningful relationship between the transformative leadership characteristics of school managers and the exhaust of teachers. When the direction and level of this relationship is studied, it has been determined that generally transformative leadership is linked to emotional exhaustion in the negative and middle direction, emotional exhaustion in the negative and low direction, personal success in the positive and low direction.
