Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to measure the knowledge literature skills and awareness of the 1st-class students studying in the Turkish Language and Literature (TDE) department of the University of Çankırı Karatekin. The sample of the study conducted in this framework is composed of 79 students studying in the specified section. Before the study, the scale of information literacy was applied in order to check the students' preliminary information, the preliminary information of the groups was identified as equivalent. In this study, where the experimental pattern method is applied, the control group is taught in the traditional method, the experiment group is taught in the information literature and the integrated course taught is applied and the results received by the control and the experiment group from the previous and final tests are compared. In addition, the research performance task was given to both control and experiment groups within the study scope after 120 minutes of lesson narration. The research performance tasks prepared by students were evaluated on the basis of the rubric prepared by the researchers based on the basis of the information literature. The study found that information literature training did not develop the expected qualification on the basis of performance task in the experimental group but that the experimental group showed a significant change in the statistically positive direction between the pre-test and the final test points and therefore increased the awareness of students about information literature. However, the control group students obtained higher scores than the experiment group students on the basis of their performance task, although there was no statistically significant difference between the pre-test scores and the final test scores given after training. The study concluded that the integrated education with 120-minute knowledge literature increased the awareness of the students about this but was not sufficient in the development of knowledge literature skills. It is recommended that the integrated course of education with knowledge literature is spread to a wider period; it is recommended that it is supported by application, tasks and different methods.
