Bu çalışmanın amacı, Eski ve Yeni Kırılgan Beşli ülkelerinde kurumsal yapı faktörlerinin ekonomik performanslarına etkisini analiz etmektir. Eski Kırılgan Beşli ülkeleri içerisinde Güney Afrika, Türkiye, Brezilya, Hindistan ve Endonezya bulunmaktadır. Yeni Kırılgan Beşli ülkeleri içerisinde Türkiye, Arjantin, Pakistan, Mısır ve Katar bulunmaktadır. Türkiye her iki Kırılgan Beşli içerisinde yer almaktadır.

Accordingly, the improvements in the corporate structures of the vulnerable countries will have a positive impact on their economic performance.
The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of institutional structure factors on the economic performance of the countries defined as the Old and New Fragile Five. Morgan Stanley noted in the 2013 report (Old) Fragile Five countries are South Africa, Turkey, Brazil, India and Indonesia.. In 2017, Standard and Poor’s analysis document shows the New Fragile Five as Turkey, Argentina, Pakistan, Egypt and Qatar. Turkey is the only country in both fragile quintets. In this direction, nine fragile countries pointed out by the two reports were analyzed using panel data analysis with annual data on political risk rating, economic risk rating and financial risk rating between 2002-2015 obtained from the ICRG database. In the analysis, first the Fixed and Random Effects models and then the Robust Model Estimators (Arellano, Froot, Rogers and Newey-West) were used. Findings obtained from the models reveal that there is a positive and significant relationship between factors related to institutional structure and economic performance. Accordingly, improvements in the institutional structures of the relevant fragile countries will affect their economic performances positively.
