Abstract:

The One Belt One Road (OBOR), which is planned to be completed in the century of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, is China's largest global hegemony initiative in the 21st century designed to increase the influence of the Chinese state on global politics. One of the most important routes of this initiative is the African continent with its resources and human potential. With the OBOR project, China has given special importance to Kenya, Cibuti, Ethiopia and Egypt by taking the African continent into the project by sea silk. The main objective of this study is to examine the importance of the African continent expressed for the OBOR project and to reveal the long-term influence of the People's Republic of China on African countries. The detailed examination of the debt-touch diplomacy applied by China is another purpose of the study. The basic hypothesis of the study is the idea that the African region will become economically dependent on the Chinese state within the OBOR project and that China will put political control on the region. This is the biggest danger in Africa, as stated in the headline.
