Abstract:

In this study, data was collected through a survey from large business employees operating in the construction, mining and machinery sectors in Nigde City in order to determine the effect of workplace spirituality on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Hierarchical regression analysis was used to test hypotheses in the study. According to the research findings, two of the workplace spirituality’s dimensions called “alignment of values” and “meaningful work” effect instrinsic job satisfaction positively and “sense of community” dimension doesn’t effect instrinsic job satisfaction; all dimensions of workplace spirituality effect extrinsic job satisfaction positively. Also “alignment of values” and “meaningful work” dimensions of workplace spirituality effect affective commitment positively and “sense of community” dimension doesn’t effect affective commitment; “alignment of values” and “sense of community” dimensions of workplace spirituality effect continuance commitment positively and “meaningful work” dimension doesn’t effect continuance commitment; “alignment of values” and “sense of community” dimensions of workplace spirituality effect normative commitment positively and “meaningful work” dimension doesn’t effect normative commitment. In conclusion, it is determined that workplace spirituality effects job satisfaction and organizational commitment positively and partially.
