Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of English teachers about Web 2.0 applications. For this purpose, qualitative data were used. In order to collect data, the opinions of English teachers, who develop fast content with Web 2.0 applications and use these contents in their lessons, were consulted. A semi-structured interview form was used to get the opinions of the teachers. Qualitative data were obtained with interview notes and audio recording, and the obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. In the interviews with the teachers who actively use Web 2.0 applications in their classes, the teachers stated that in the process of preparing the content with Web 2.0 tools, they encountered the problems that the content preparation process takes a lot of time, technological inadequacies and the fact that some applications are paid. As a result, the teachers who participated in the research stated that despite some difficulties they experienced with Web 2.0 applications, the interest and motivation of the students increased, the students found the lessons more enjoyable and accordingly their academic achievements increased positively. In different studies, the study group can be expanded and experimental studies can be included.
