Bu araştırmada, ilkokul 4. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılan eğitsel oyun ve dijital oyun ile öğretiminin öğrencilerin sosyal bilgiler dersindeki akademik başarı ve sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumlarına etkisinin olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Araştırma, Elazığ ilinin Merkez ilçesine bağlı bir ilkokulun 4. sınıf düzeyinde okuyan farklı iki sınıfta bulunan 36 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma nicel olarak yürütülmüş ve yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Gruplar farklı özellikleri yönünden eşleştirilerek ön test-son test deney ve kontrol gruplu olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Başarı Testi (SBDBT) ve Sosyal Bilgiler Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (SBDYTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin SBDBT puan verilerine göre, iki grubunda akademik başarıları pozitif yönde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark çıkarırken iki grubun son test puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak bir farka ulaşılamamıştır. SBDYTÖ ön test-son test puan verilerine göre ise iki grup için de istatistiksel olarak bir farklılık çıkmamıştır. SBDYTÖ son test puan verilerine göre deney ile kontrol grubu öğrencileri arasında deney grubu lehine istatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyinde bir farklılık sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This study investigated whether educational games and digital games used in primary school 4th grade social sciences course affect students' academic achievement and their attitudes toward it. The research consisted of 36 students in two different classes studying at the 4th grade level of a primary school in a district of Elazığ province. Quasi-experimental design, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The groups in the study were matched in terms of their different characteristics and the pre-posttest was carried out with experimental and control groups. In the research, the Social Sciences Course Achievement Test (SSCAT) and Attitude towards Social Sciences Course Scale (ASSCS) were used as data collection tools. According to the SSCAT score data of the students in the experimental and control groups, a statistically significant intragroup difference was found in the post-test, but there was no statistical intergroup difference between the post-test scores of the two groups. No statistical difference was found between the pre-test ASSCS scores of the groups. However, in the ASSCS post-test scores, a statistically significant difference was found between the experimental and control group in favor of the experimental group.
