Abstract:

This study, aimed at studying the written theses related to the training of the writing skills in Turkish teaching to foreigners, is an imaginary quality study. The study examined the theses available from the National Thesis Center of the Higher Education Institution between 01.04.2021 and 15.04.2021. Document analysis was used during the study of the theses. Data analysis is carried out in postgraduate theses according to the titles of "type, year, university, main discipline/institute, method, pattern, data collection tools". According to the results of the analysis, a total of 66 postgraduate theses, including 47 master’s and 19 doctoral theses, were achieved. The most of these theses found that the most theses were written in 2019, the most theses were written by the University of Gazi, the most theses were written in the main field of Turkish education and the Institute of Educational Sciences. In the theses, the most quality and mixed methods are used, the most document examination pattern is used, and the most documents are used as a data collection tool. All these findings were compared with the studies in literature and the conclusion was that the studies on writing education in the field of Turkish teaching to foreigners should be further increased.
