Abstract:

With the globalized, changing and growing world, energy consumption has also increased rapidly. Renewable energy sources are on the forefront due to the extinction of fossil fuels one day and the damage they cause to the environment. Education is inevitable to acquire awareness of renewable energy sources for a sustainable life and to educate conscious communities. This task gives great responsibilities to all teachers, including teachers. The objective of this research is to study the attitudes of teachers’ knowledge to renewable energy sources according to the variables of academic average, gender, class level, environmental lessons. 139 science knowledge teacher candidates have been applied "Renewable Energy Attitude Scale" consisting of four subdimensions and a total of 26 articles, the statistical package program has been used in the process of data analysis. When the results of the study were studied, the attitudes of teachers candidates to renewable energy sources varied significantly according to the status of gender and environmental lessons, while there was no significant differences according to class level.
