Abstract:

Health literature is the ability to access and use information to protect and improve the health of the individual and society. Students will be prevented from using unnecessary medical services. This study aims to determine the level of health literacy of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The research has used quantum research design and easy sampling method. The study found the Cronbach Alpha value of the scale used to be 0.925 . The study, developed by Sorenson et al., (2013) and downloaded by Toçi et al., (2013) to 25 articles, used the health literature scale. The Turkish validity and reliability study of the measurement was conducted by Aras and Bayık Basel (2017). The research included students from the Department of Health Management, Nursing, Nutrition and Nutrition, Child Development and Social Services, studying at the Selçuk University, Faculty of Health Sciences. The universe of the study consists of 3500 people and the sampling is 403. According to the findings from the study, there was no significant difference between the levels of health literature according to the gender of the students, and there was a significant difference between the departments of the students and health literature. Students involved in the study found a positive and low degree meaningful relationship between their health status and health literature. According to the results obtained from the study, the level of health literature of health management and nutrition dietetics students was higher than the level of social services and nursing department students. In addition, as the general health condition of individuals improves, the level of health literacy also increases.
