Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal problem çözme düzeylerinin; sosyal yetkinlik değişkenine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını incelemektir. Genel tarama modeline uygun olarak gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın evrenini, 2009-2010 akademik yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi’nin çeşitli fakültelerinde öğrenim gören lisans öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 493’ü kız (%58,1); 356’sı erkek (%41,9) toplam 849 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında D’Zurilla ve Nezu (1990) tarafından geliştirilen ve Maydeu-Olivares ve D’Zurilla (1996) tarafından yeniden gözden geçirilen ve Dora (2003) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan “Sosyal Problem Çözme Envanteri” (SPÇE) kullanılmıştır. Sosyal Problem Çözme Envanteri (SPÇE), beş alt ölçekten (Probleme Olumlu Yönelme, Probleme Olumsuz Yönelme, Akılcı Problem Çözme, İçtepisel-Dikkatsiz Yaklaşım, Kaçıngan Yaklaşım) oluşmaktadır. Palancı (2004) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan “Sosyal Öz-Yeterlik Algısı Ölçeği” (SÖZYE) kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin orjinali Smith ve Betz (2000) tarafından geliştirilmiştir (Palancı, 2004). Verilerin analizinde Pearson Corelation katsayısı ve basit regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, sosyal yetkinlik ölçeğinden elde edilen puanlar ile probleme olumlu yönelme ve akılcı problem çözme puanları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu saptanırken; probleme olumsuz yönelme, içtepisel dikkatsiz ve kaçınmacı problem çözme puanları arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca sosyal yetkinlik puanlarının içtepisel dikkatsiz problem çözme alt ölçek puanları hariç diğer sosyal problem çözme envanteri alt ölçek puanlarını yordadığı bulunmuştur.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine whether or not university students’ levels of social problem-solving differs according to the variable of to social efficacy. The target population of the study which was carried in accordance with the general scanning model was undergraduate students who studied at Selcuk University in 2009-2010 academic year. The sample of the study is consisted of 849 students including 493 female students (58,1%) and 356 male students (41,9%) . Data were collected from Social Problem Solving Scale (D’Zurilla ve Nezu ,1990; Maydeu-Olivares and D’Zurilla, 1996) translated and adapted by (Dora, 2003) and Social Self Efficacy Scale (Smith and Betz, 2000; translated and adapted, Palancı, 2004). The Social Problem Solving Inventory consists of five subscales, namely: Positive Problem Orientation (PPO), Negative Problem Orientation (NPO), Rational Problem Solving (RPS), Impulsivity-Carelesness Style (ICS) and Avoidance (AS) Style. In order to analyze data, Pearson Corelation Coefficient and Simple Regression Analysis. As a result of research; it has been detected that there is a positive correlation between the points of social self-efficacy scale and points of positive problem orientation and rational problem solving, whereas there is a negative correlation between the points of negative problem orientation, impulsive careless attitude and avoidant attitude. Also, it was found that social self-efficacy points can be used to predict subscale points of other social problem solving inventories except impulsive careless attitude.
