Abstract:

Cemal Süreya, one of the pioneers of the Second New Movement, is an artist who has been influential around the literature from the time he lived to today. Having written many types of works, including poetry, prose and anthology, the artist has handled human sensitivities within the frame of his own sensibilities. It is possible to see the traces of the painful life around the exile psychosis that a child has experienced within his poetry which has a human essence. In this article, it is aimed to reveal the understanding of poetry based on the writings of Cemal Süreya published in Papirus magazine. As Papirus, which has an important place in Süreya's life, begins to be published, a new art environment is formed. As a result of the information obtained from the papers published in Papirus magazine, the study consists of two main parts. In the first chapter, under the heading of Poetry, Cemal Süreya's poetry language and the relationship of poetry with the society and human beings are studied based on his published articles in Papirus. In this section, some sections are given from the life of the poet, and the features of him reflected in his poems are emphasized. The second chapter, entitled Understanding Poetry Around Poets, is based on poetry about the poets who have gone to literature history. In this section, Cemal Süreya's views on art insights and especially poetry were given to Tevfik Fikret, Tahsin Saraç, Ahmet Arif, Turgut Uyar, Can Yücel, Ceyhun Atuf Kansu, Yaşar Nabi Nayır, Cahit Külebi and Oktay Rifat. In Cemal Süreya, where we can find traces of his life in his poems, poetry is a revolution. His poetry is a rebellion against the established system and the non-human.
