Kuantum Ogrenme Modeline Dayali Ogretimin Ogrencilerin Akademik Basarilarina ve Oz Duzenleme Becerilerine Etkisi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Kuantum Öğrenme Modeli’ne dayalı öğretimin ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarına ve öz düzenleme becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma 2015-2016 Öğretim Yılı’nda Samsun ili Atakum ilçesinde seçilen bir ilkokulda yapılmıştır. Araştırmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu desen (ÖSKD) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bağımsız değişkeni, Kuantum Öğrenme Modeli; bağımlı değişkenleri ise akademik başarı ve öz düzenleme becerisidir. Araştırmada, Sosyal Bilgiler dersi (Üretim, Dağıtım ve Tüketim Öğrenme Alanı 4. Ünite) Üretimden Tüketime ünitesi ile ilgili başarı testi ve İsrael (2007) tarafından geliştirilen öz düzenleme ölçeği olmak üzere iki ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Deney grubunda “Kuantum Öğrenme Modeli”ne göre araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan etkinlikler uygulanırken, kontrol grubunda “halen yürürlükteki öğretim programı esas alınarak MEB tarafından hazırlanan ders kitapları, çalışma kitabı ve klavuz kitaplarda yer alan etkinlikler” kullanılmıştır. Deney grubuna haftada iki saat olmak üzere 5 hafta süreyle toplam 10 saat kuantum öğrenme modeline yönelik hazırlayıcı eğitim verilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubuna aynı ölçme araçları öntest, sontest ve kalıcılık testi olmak üzere üç kez uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler SPSS 17 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin normal dağılıma sahip olduğunun tespit edilmesinden sonra, alt problemler doğrultusunda bağımlı ve bağımsız örneklem t testi kullanılarak veriler analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda kuantum öğrenme modeline dayalı öğretimin ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarını artırdığı, öz düzenleme becerilerini ise, araştırmada ele alınan sekiz boyuttan beşinde (ders izlemenin düzenlenmesi sonuçları kontrol etme, öz değerlendirme, çalışmayı sürdürme, ek çalışmalar yapma) geliştirdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Diğer boyutlarda (kavramaya çalışma, ders çalışmanın düzenlenmesi ve başarıya odaklanma) etkili olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Kuantum Öğrenme Modeli’ne göre yapılan öğretimle, geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre yapılan öğretim arasında akademik başarının kalıcılığı açısından anlamlı bir fark ortaya çıkmamıştır. Aksine akademik başarının kalıcılığı açısından geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerinin daha olumlu sonuç verdiği görülmüştür. Öz düzenleme becerilerinin kalıcılığı açısından geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri uygulanan grupla, Kuantum Öğrenme Modeli kullanılan grup arasında anlamlı fark ortaya çıkmamıştır.

The Influence Of Teaching Based On Quantum Learning Model On Academic Achievements and Self-regulation Skills Of Students

Abstract:

The main objective of the study was to examine the influence of teaching based on Quantum Learning Model on primary school fourth year students academic achievements and self-regulation skills. The research was carried out in 2015-2016 school year at a primary school in Atakum, a town of Samsun. A research model with pre-test post-test control group had been used. The independent variable of the research was Quantum Learning Model and dependent variables are academic achievement and self-regulation skills. Two assessment and evaluation instruments had been used in this research; one of them was the achievement test about the unit “From Production to Consumption in Social Studies (Production, Distribution and Consumption learning field, unit 4) and the other is self-regulation scale developed by Eli Israel. While the activities prepared by the researcher according to Quantum Learning Model were applied in experimental group, the activities in workbooks, guidebooks and textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education based on the current curriculum were conducted in the control group. After Experimental and control groups were determined, both experimental group and control groups were given achievement test and self-regulation scale as pre-test. Then the experimental group was given preparatory training about Quantum Learning Model for five weeks, two hours per week, ten hours in total. Upon the completion of the unit, measuring instruments were used again as the post-test for both experimental and control groups. In order to find out the permanence of what was taught, tree months after the completion of the unit the same measuring instruments were used again for both experimental and control group, and the data obtained was analyzed by SPSS 17 program tests of normality (Kolmogorov- Smirnov) were carried out in the analysis of research data to find out whether the necessary pre-suppositions were provided or not. After it was established that the research data had a normal distribution, the data was analyzed by dependent and independent t-tests in line with the hypothesis. The results suggest that teaching based on Quantum Learning Model increased academic achievements of fourth year students of primary school, and, as for the self-regulation, it has improved five out of eight traits (regulation of following the lessons, checking the results, self-assessment, maintaining studies and doing additional studies) dealt with in this research, but it has not been effective on other traits (trying to perceive, regulation of studies and focusing on success). It has been concluded that, education based on the Quantum Learning Model has not proved to be more effective for primary school fourth year students in terms of providing them with permanent academic achievements, and that it did not make their self-regulation skills more permanent. On the contrary ,it has been establıshed that traditional educational methods yield more positive results regarding the permanency of academic achiement. There is no significant difference between the group which was taught through traditional educational methods and the one for which Quantum Learning Model was used in terms of permanency of self-regulation skills.
