Abstract:

This study is about learning Turkish as a foreign language in the Department of Turcology, the perception of Iraqi students for Turkey, Turks and Turkish. A questionnaire was prepared in order to determine the perceptions in the study. The questionnaire consisting of 18 questions was analyzed by descriptive method according to three determined categories. Apart from the questionnaire, a semi-structured interview form was applied to the same group of students. The questionnaire and interview form was applied to the students of the Turkish Language Department of Iraq-Erbil Selahaddin University, who came to Turkey for language practice at different dates. A total of 25 student questionnaire and interview forms were distributed; The evaluations of these 25 learners have been taken into consideration. Due to the difficulties in data analysis of the qualitative research, the interviews with the students were associated with the questionnaire in accordance with the systematic analysis technique and the data were interpreted accordingly. This questionnaire, which is applied to different age groups in 2015, aims to measure the value dimension with the degree of frequency of Turkey, Turks and Turkish perceptions of students.
