Fert ve toplumların hayatlarında din duygusu ve inançlar önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Türk toplumunda da din duygusu oldukça güçlüdür. Bu çalışmada umumî Türk tarihi içinde önemli değişme ve gelişmelerin yaşan¬dığı bir dönem olan Tanzimat devrinde Batılı bir anlatı türü olarak edebiyatımıza giren romanlarda din duygusu ve bunun, değişen insanımızın ve toplumumuzun haya¬tındaki tezahürleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Başta Ahmet Midhat Efendi olmak üzere, insanların dolayısıyla toplumun değişmesini kendilerine görev bilen romancıla¬rımız, eserlerinde birçok konuyla beraber dinler, inançlar ve din duygusu konularına da yer vermişlerdir.
Religion and beliefs hold an important place in the lives of Fert and communities. In the Turkish community, religious feelings are very strong. In this study, a period of significant changes and developments in the general Turkish history, in the Tanzimat era, the romanes entering our literature as a type of Western narrative have been attempted to identify the sense of religion and its manifestations in our changing people and society. First of all, our romanticism, including Ahmet Midhat Efendi, who is responsible for the change of society because of the people, in his works, with many subjects, he has also placed the subjects of religious beliefs and feelings.
