Kent aktörleri, kentlerde alınan kararlar ve kentsel politikaların oluşturulması konusunda yasal hakları dâhilinde belli yetkilere sahiptir. Dolayısıyla kentlerde toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması noktasında da oldukça etkili bir konumda bulunmaktadırlar. Kadın dostu kentler projesi iseTürkiye’de kentler noktasında toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin yerleştirilmesi için 2006’dan bu yana önce 6 ilde olmak üzere bugün ise 12 ilde uygulanmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada kadın dostu kent programının hayata geçirilmediği bir kent olan Zonguldak’ta toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanmasına yönelik kent aktörlerinin katkılarının varlığı ve programa ilişkin aktörlerin bilgi ve algı düzeyleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Aktörlerden bazılarının, kentte toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanmasına yönelik farkındalık çalışmaları yürüttüğü tespit edilirken; konuya ilişkin çalışma yapmayan kent aktörlerinin de olduğu ortaya çıkmış bulunmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle kent aktörleri ile görüşülerek elde edilen bulgular nitel araştırma yöntemiyle değerlendirilmeye tabi tutulmaktadır. Çalışmanın ayrıca kadın dostu kent programına dair farkındalığın artmasına ve bu sürecin hızlanmasına destek sağlayacağı beklenen pozitif sonuçtur.
City actors have certain powers within their legal rights on the decision-making in the cities and the establishment of urban policies. Therefore, they are in a very effective position at the point of ensuring gender equality in cities. Women-friendly cities project has begun to be implemented in 12 provinces today, including 6 provinces since 2006 for social gender equality to be placed in cities in Turkey. In this study, a city where the women-friendly city program is not implemented in Zonguldak, the presence of the contribution of the city actors to ensure gender equality and the level of knowledge and perception of the actors related to the program is attempted to identify. Some of the actors have been found to carry out awareness work to ensure gender equality in the city; there are also city actors who do not work on the subject. In the context of the study, the findings obtained by meeting with the city actors through the face-to-face conversation method are subject to evaluation by the quality research method. The study is also a positive result that is expected to support the awareness of the women-friendly city program and the acceleration of this process.
