Abstract:

The crises in the social security systems in developed and developing countries have led to the beginning of reform work on the restructuring of the system. With the social security reform, the individual pension system has emerged, which has found the area of application in different ways according to the country’s structures and forms a new system structure. This structure represents a structure that complements the social security system or is an alternative to the system, increasing the level of well-being of individuals during the retirement period. The aim of the study is to examine the impact of the individual pension system on national savings within the ten countries selected for the period 2006-2016. Panel statistical data analysis has been used to identify the relationship between the specified variables. As a result of the empirical application, a negative relationship between the individual pension system and savings in selected countries has been identified.
