Abstract:

The aim of this study is to find Shakesperare's narrative techniques in the game Antony and Cleopatra and to evaluate the Turkish translations of the narrative techniques identified. For this purpose, the source text of the game has been solved to identify the narrative techniques from the point of view of the translation indicator. For the translation assessment, the game was included in the study of three Turkish translations made by different translators, each of which was selected to be at least a decade. As a result of the analysis of the source text, the narrative techniques were identified in 30 words, but when the purpose of the study was taken into account - to evaluate the Turkish translations of the narrative techniques identified in the source text - only eight words identified the transformation of meaning in at least one of the male texts were included in this study. As the other 22 words have no disturbing tendency in the Turkish translations, those words have been kept out of this study. In these eight techniques, four of them have the first story technique, and the other four have the end story technique. According to the results of the translation assessment, a total of 10 meaningless tendencies have been identified in three different Turkish translations of these eight words. These disturbing trends have come to us as a tendency of the twilight of meaning, one of the exaggeration of meaning, one of the distortion of meaning, one of the distortion of meaning, one of the distortion of meaning, one of the distortion of meaning. As these findings can be understood, summer translators can use the analysis steps suggested in the translation indication model in understanding the source text and learn about what kind of meaning transformations are occurring in the translation.
