In recent years, the tendency of Turkey to European Union has been gradually decreasing and its candidacy has become debatable. As a result of the Turkey’s failure of the European Union criteria to be fulfilled both economically and politically, and Turkey is not willing to join EU as much as in the past, Turkey has begun to take steps for new formations. Especially after the 2008 World Economic Crisis, the slowdown in trade with European countries, was a major reason for this alternative search. The Turkish Union formed by the Turkish Republics can come to life again. This study is an answer to the question of how much the Turkish Union could be the European Union. As a result of the study of foreign trade, the Turkish Union is not an alternative to the European Union.
