Abstract:

This study was done in order to identify the problems correctly in hospitals in medical tourism services, which are a kind of health tourism, and to produce solutions recommendations. The examples of the study were conducted in Antalya, one of the most preferred places in terms of tourism. The research is done based on the research method by interviewing technique. In the framework of the study, a total of 14 hospital officials in Antalya were consulted. In the context of this study, hospitals have been identified with problems due to high costs, legal obstacles and competition in public relations and marketing studies and have been proposed solutions such as having state support, making legal regulations. In the human resources studies of hospitals, problems related to staff were identified and staff training was recommended. Patient rights and ethics issues arising from the patient and from the hospital have been identified and state-based solutions have been proposed. In the infrastructure of the hospitals, problems arising from the hospital have been identified and the opening of new departments for investment purposes has been recommended. The financial incentives of hospitals have been identified by government-based problems and government-based improvements have been suggested. Health tourists have been identified to experience problems from hospitals, patients and Turkey, hospitals and state-based solutions have been proposed. The health tourism unit managers have been identified and hospital-based solutions were proposed for problems arising from the patient and the staff. Detected problems and solutions are only applicable in the hospitals within the sampling. Although the findings can be partly transmitted to similar situations, new studies should be carried out in wider samples and different areas.
