Garip hareketi, Cumhuriyet devri Türk şiirinde etkisini 1940’lı yıllardan bugüne devam ettirmiştir. Bu anlayışı devam ettiren şairler her geçen gün azalsa da Garip hareketinin Türk şiirine gelenek karşıtlığı; sıradanlığı, gündelik hayatı ve konuşma dilini kullanma gibi hususlarla bir değişim getirdiği bilinmektedir. Halim Şefik Güzelson (1913-1990), edebiyat mahfillerinde şiirlerinden çok hayatıyla yer edinen, Orhan Veli ile dostluğu üzerinden anlaşılmak istenen, şiir anlayışını çocukluk arkadaşı Orhan Veli Kanık’ın izinde oluşturan dahası hayatında da Garip şairine özel yer ayıran bir şairdir. Halim Şefik Güzelson, evliliği, seyyar kitap satıcılığı, temaları, Orhan Veli’nin ölümü üzerine yazdığı ve tek kitabına adını veren “Otopsi” şiiri ile tanınmaktadır. Garip anlayışının Türk şiirine etkilerini göstermesi bakımından da anlamlı bulduğumuz bu çalışmanın odağında Halim Şefik Güzelson ve onun Orhan Veli Kanık’ın izinden giden hayatı, şiir anlayışı yer almaktadır. Makalede öncelikle Güzelson’un -hayatında Orhan Veli Kanık’ın yerini ve şiirlerindeki otobiyografik unsurları anlayabilmek adına- kısa bir biyografisine yer verilecektir. Hayat tarzından, okuduklarından, yaşadıklarından edindiği tecrübeler, Garip hareketi ve Orhan Veli etkisiyle yoğrulmuş şiir anlayışı da alt başlıklar halinde değerlendirilecektir. Bu değerlendirmelerde şairin Garip çizgisine ters düşmeden farklılaşan yönleri üzerinde de durulacaktır. Orhan Veli’nin şairin hayatı ve sanatı üzerindeki etkisinin altı çizilecektir. Sonuç bölümünde Halim Şefik Güzelson’un şiir anlayışı ve Orhan Veli Kanık’ın şaire etkisi hakkında genel değerlendirmeler yapılacaktır.
The Strange (Forlorn) movement has created an influence on Turkish poetry since the 1940s. Although the number of poets who follow this movement’s ideals is decreasing day by day, it is a well-known fact that the Strange movement has brought about a change in Turkish poetry by such ideas as non-conformism, simplicity, and talking about daily life in a colloquial way. Halim Şefik Güzelson (1913-1990), known in literary cycles for his personal life rather than his poetry, wanted to be seen as a friend of Orhan Veli Kanık. As well as being his childhood friend, Kanik made a great influence on him in shaping not only his poetry but also his personal life. He is best known for his marriage, and for his being a book peddler, as well as for his unique themes, and for his poem Autopsy (Autopsy) in his single book named after that poem, which he wrote upon Kanık's death. This study, which we consider to be significant in that it shows the impacts of the Strange movement on Turkish poetry, deals with the poet Halim Şefik Güzelson: his personal life and poetry, upon which there are Orhan Veli Kanık's traces. In this article, there will be a short biography of Mr. Ruth in order to see Mr. Ruth’s impacts on his life and to detect the autobiographical elements in his poetry. His approach to poetry, which was shaped by his way of life, by what he read and experienced, and also by Strange movement and Orhan Veli's influences, is going to be discussed in subtitles. These discussions include also his views which are different from - but not opposite to - the Strange movement. There will be an emphasis on the impacts of Orhan Veli on Güzelson's personal life and poetry. There will be made some general evaluations in the conclusion part about Güzelson's way of poetry and Orhan Veli Kanık's influences on this poet.
