Abstract:

In Turkey, as in the world, medical tourism is growing rapidly. In addition to countries such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Costa Rica, Mexico, Turkey has also begun to become one of the leading destinations in medical tourism. The transformation program in health that Turkey puts in practice has improved the quality and satisfaction of health services and contributed to the development of medical tourism. Factors affecting the quality of services in medical tourism have been studied in three groups as human, physical and social factors. Recommendations that can show the approaches of industry representatives regarding the quality of services in medical tourism were directed to industry representatives and the outcomes were analyzed. According to this, the quality of service has ranked fourth among the sides where Turkey is strong in medical tourism. The implementation results show that the quality of medical services offered in Turkey is generally good and sufficient, while secondary data indicate some deficiencies in the sector. In order to increase competitiveness in medical tourism, it is necessary to strengthen the qualifications of employees in the sector, to improve the capacities of mediation organizations, to resolve the problems in communication.
