Türkiye’de son yıllarda üniversite sayısının artmasıyla birlikte öğrencilerin tercih edebileceği devlet ya da vakıf üniversitesi alternatifleri de çoğalmıştır. Bir yükseköğretim programını tercih ederken öğrencilerin dikkate aldığı çok sayıda kriter ve alternatif söz konusudur. Bu çalışmanın amacı bir yükseköğretim programı tercih edilirken dikkate alınan kriterlerin önem derecesinin belirlenmesi ve alternatif üniversiteler arasındanuygun olanının seçilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda vakıf üniversitelerinin ameliyathane programlarının seçimi problemi ele alınmış ve söz konusu karar probleminin çözümünde çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden birisi olan Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) kullanılmıştır. Yöntemin uygulanması sonucunda yedi kriter önem sırasına dizilmiş ve dört alternatif üniversite arasındanuygun olanı tespit edilmiştir. Kriterlerin ağırlıkları ile alternatif üniversitelerin sıralamaları belirlenirken iki ayrı sınıftan öğrencilerin görüşlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ortak görüşlerine göre kriterlerin önem sıralaması baştan sona taban puan, burs, öğrenim ücreti / aile ve çevreye yakınlık, akademik kadro, fiziki yapı ve yerleşke ve kültürel etkinlikler olarak bulunmuştur. İkinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ortak görüşlerine göre ise bu sıralama taban puan, öğrenim ücreti, aile ve çevreye yakınlık, burs, akademik kadro, fiziki yapı ve yerleşke ve kültürel etkinlikler şeklinde olmuştur. Kriterler bakımından benzer görüşler ortaya çıkmış fakat tercih edilen alternatif üniversite sıralaması bakımından iki sınıf arasında belirgin farklılıkların olduğu görülmüştür. Son olarak, çalışmanın kısıtlarından ve gelecekte yapılacak araştırmalara ilişkin önerilerden bahsedilmiştir.
In Turkey in recent years, with the increase in the number of universities, the government or foundation university alternatives that students can choose have also increased. There are many criteria and alternatives that students take into account when prefering a higher education program. The aim of this study is to determine the importance of the criteria taken into account when a higher education program is preferred and to choose the one that is suitable among alternative universities. To this end, the problem of the selection of the operational programs of the foundation universities has been addressed and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been used, which is one of the multi-critical decision-making methods in the resolution of the issue. As a result of the method implementation, seven criteria were ranked in order of importance and the corresponding one was identified between four alternative universities. The weight of the criteria and the rankings of alternative universities were determined while taking advantage of the opinions of students from two different classes. According to the common opinions of first-class students, the importance of the criteria is ranked as from the beginning to the end based points, scholarships, study fees / family and environmental proximity, academic staff, physical structure and settlement and cultural events. According to the common opinions of second-class students, this ranking has been in the form of basic points, study fees, family and environmental proximity, scholarships, academic staff, physical structure and settlements and cultural events. The criteria are similar, but the preferred alternative university ranking has seen significant differences between the two classes. Finally, we discussed the limitations of the study and the recommendations on research to be done in the future.
