Abstract:

The main purpose of this study is to examine the levels of cyber bullying and cyber victimization in high school students in a comparative manner. The research was carried out with total 256 students in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes of Şanlıurfa Science High School in the academic year of 2017-2018. The data of the study were collected through face-to-face survey using the "Cyber Bullying Scale" and "Cyber Victimization Scale" developed by Arıcak, Kinay and Tanrıkulu (2012). To examine the normality distributions of the numerical variables, the Shapiro-Wilk test was applied and the normal distribution was obtained. Parametric tests were used in the data set. In analysing the descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values were used. Independent sample t-test and One-way ANOVA test were used in assessing the differences between the cyber-bullying and cyber victimization scores of the socio-demographic variables. Tukey HSD multiple comparison test was used for differences between groups.
