So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between three-dimensional objects drawing achievement and visual mathematical literacy self-efficacy perceptions of 5th, 6th and 7th graders. The research was carried out with 128 5th, 6th and 7th graders ( 72 female/56 male) in 2016-2017 education and training year. The data related to the research were collected with the Visual Mathematics Literacy Self-efficacy Perception Scale (VMLSPS) and 3D Objects Drawing Achievement Evaluation Form (3DODAEF). The Spearman test was employed as the data were not parametric to analyse the correlation between the drawing achievement and the visual mathematical self-efficacy perceptions of the students in the research; the Mann Whitney U to determine the drawing achievement and visual mathematical literacy self-efficacy perceptions of the students in terms of their genders and the Kruskall Wallis H test in terms of the class level. According to the findings of the research, a positively significant relationship between the visual mathematical literacy and the achievements of drawing 3D objects of the students was encountered. In addition, it was found out in the research that the visual mathematical literacy perception levels of the female students were significantly higher than the male students; yet, no meaningful difference was encountered in terms of the drawing achievement. On the other hand, as it was considered in terms of the class level, a significant difference was encountered among the students’ drawing achievements. In addition, no significant difference was found related to the visual mathematical literacy self-efficacy perception levels of the students in terms of the class level.
