Abstract:

Cartoons are one of the most effective visual units of art and design. In this sense, caroons are rich of both visual and auditory elements. Cartoons can be considered as total combination of painting, text, cinema and music. Moreover, the main elements of world cartoons are based on cultural heritage. Tales, legends, oral culture, etc. are frequently used in creating the stories of cartoons. Nasreddin Hodja is one of the greatest humor heritages of Turkish oral culture. In this paper, using two related samples, representation of Nasreddin Hodja image is tried to be analyzed in Turkish cartoons.
