Abstract:

In this article, why "yellow press/journalism" concept wich comes from English term "yellow press" to almost all other languages symbolizes sensational press will be explained. If we accept that colors as a language tell us something and every color has a message that is to be delivered (bound to its concept), we will try to manifest that what is the meaning of the "yellow" color, what yellow wants to say and if there really exist a relationship between the "yellow color" and "yellow press/journalism" term by meaning. Primarily, what is the meaning of "yellow colour" in historical perspective and in different cultures, and then how yellow as a colour has a relationship or might has a relationship with the journalism term "yellow press/journalism" will be explained. As it is being explained, how and where the term "yellowpress/journalism" came into the literature and its history will be mentioned shortly.
