Bu çalışmanın amacı lise öğrencilerinin su döngüsü konusuyla ilgili bilgi yapılarını Bağımsız Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi ve Yazma- Çizme Tekniği aracılığıyla belirlemektir. Betimsel desenli bu çalışma 2014- 2015 akademik yılı bahar yarıyılında 95 lise öğrencisiyle yürütülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi ile elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, öğrencilerin su döngüsüyle ilgili bilgi yapılarında bulunan kavramlar “su döngüsünün tanımı”, “su döngüsünün basamakları” ve “su döngüsünün gerçekleştiği ortamlar” olmak üzere üç kategoridedir. “Su döngüsünün tanımı” kategorisinde 19 farklı kavram 206 frekansla temsil edilmektedir. “Su Döngüsünün Basamakları” kategorisinde 17 farklı kavram 286 frekansla temsil edilmektedir. “Su Döngüsünün Gerçekleştiği Ortamlar” kategorisinde 18 farklı kavram 136 frekansla temsil edilmektedir. Yazma- Çizme Tekniğiyle elde edilen bulgular ise öğrencilerin konuyla ilgili % 49.4 oranında bilimsel vurgusu olmayan; %45.3 oranında ise kabul edilebilir düzeyde eksik bilimsel bilgiler içeren; %5.3 oranında tamamen doğru ve eksiksiz, bilimsel bilgiye uygun bilgi yapıları oluşturduklarını göstermektedir.
