Abstract:

Prophet Muhammad performed the duty entrusted him first by chanting the Quran and, as a result of this, met lots of reactions. Some verses of Koran narrates negative reactions which were revealed during the chanting of Quran. These verses desipher the features of people of denial and also reveals how helpless they were against the miracle of Quran. The reactions dealt with in verses occurred as actions in which sometimes words, sometimes acts and sometimes both were used. Previous prophets also came across some of these reactions; however, with the difference that at the target of the reactions directed to Prophet Muhammad existed the Holy Quran. As it is understood from related verses, people of denial try to cover the verses of Quran chanted to them with their words and behaviors. In this article, verses mentioning the negative reactions against the chanting of Quran will be interpreted. Thus, denier positions against Quran and their results will be determined and the significance of keeping away from them will be emphasized.
