Abstract:

19th century was a period pursuits for Turkish Literature A literature society of the period namely; Encümen i Şuara had brought together some of the remarkable poets of the time This society used to gather in Hersekli Ârif Hikmet Bey’s house on a weekly basis and members’ poems were read out by the members in the social setting Thanks to his strong voice Namık Kemal was quite often chosen to be the one to read out these poems Following that the members of the society used to make criticism upon the poems Poets like Ziya Pasha Namık Kemal who were at the early stage of their career were among this group of artists coming together to improve the Turkish poetry It is also known that Şinasi had some literature ralated bonds with some of the members of the society This piece of work aims to shed light on the influence of Encümen i Şuara on Şinasi Namık Kemal ve Ziya Pasha who belonged to Ottoman Political Reforms 1 Period Keywords: Encümen i Şuara 19th century Turkish Literature 19th century Divan Literature artists of Ottoman Political Reforms 1 Period Şinasi Namık Kemal Ziya Pasha
