Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate whether depression, violence and relating to parents/fathers in high school students are meaningful contributors to self-respect. The study group consisted of 178 girls (62.9 percent) and 105 men (37.1 percent) and 283 high school students. The average age of students is 15.39 and the standard age deviation is 0.489. The research data was collected with the Rosenberg self-respect scale, the Scale of Violence Tendence, the Beck Depression scale, and the reserve of connection to parents and friends in a short form. In the analysis of the data, the phase multi-linear regression analysis was used. The two correlations between the variables have been studied in order to determine whether there are multiple connections between the independent variables. The results of the analysis found that depression, confidence in a friend, mother-to-mother outstanding and friend-to-mother outstanding were important contributors to high school students’ self-respect. The achieved outcome may be a suggestion in planning and implementation of psychological counseling and guidance services for high school students in adolescence, which are critical for personality development.
