Amaç: Bu araştırmada beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmen adaylarının benlik saygısı düzeyleri ve kopya çekmeye ilişkin tutumları arasında bir ilişkinin olup olmadığının belirlenmesi ve araştırma kapsamındaki bağımsız değişkenlere göre bu iki bağımlı değişkenin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Materyal ve Yöntem: 167 beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmen adayı ( (yaş)= 21.44±1.98) araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, Morris Rosenberg (1965) tarafından geliştirilmiş ve Çuhadaroğlu (1986) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlaması yapılmış olan Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Semerci (2003) tarafından geliştirilen Kopya Çekmeye İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenleri elde etme aracı olarak da Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation testi ve Kruksal Wallis H testi kullanılmıştır. Tip 1 hata %5 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bulgular: Öğretmen adaylarının benlik saygıları kadınların erkeklerden (t(165)=3.360, p=0.001), 3. sınıf öğrencilerinin 2. sınıflardan (F(3-163)=2.956, p=0.034), Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmenliği Bölümünde öğrenim görmekten mutlu olanların kararsızlardan (x²=10.724, p=0.005) ve kopya çekmeyenlerin çekenlerden (t(165)=2.104, p=0.037) daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Kopya çekmeye ilişkin tutumları incelendiğinde ise başka bölümde öğrenim görmeyi isteyenlerin istemeyenlerden (t(165)=2.794, p=0.006), kendilerini öğretmen adayı olarak tanımlayanların öğrenci olarak tanımlayanlardan (F(2-164)=3.096, p=0.048) daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçları benlik saygısı ve kopya çekmeye ilişkin tutumları arasında istatistiksel önemli ilişkinin olmadığını göstermiştir (r=0.027). Sonuçlar: Sonuç olarak, kopya çekmeye yönelik tutum ile benlik saygısı arasında istatistiksel anlamlı bir ilişki olmamasına rağmen hiç kopya çekmediğini belirtenlerin benlik saygılarının daha yüksek olduğu ve kendini öğretmen adayı olarak tanımlayanların öğrenci olarak tanımlayanlara göre kopya çekmeye ilişkin tutumlarının daha olumlu olduğunun ön plana çıktığı görülmüştür.
Aim: In this research it was aimed to investigate the relation between the self-esteem of the prospective teachers of physical education and sports (PES) and their attitudes towards cheating; it was also investigated if these two dependent variables change or don’t change according to the independent variables in the scope of the research. Material and Methods: 167 prospective teachers of physical education (21.44±1.98 years) participated in the study voluntarily. Quantitative research techniques were used in the research. As measurement tools in these research were used Self-esteem Scale, Scale for Attitude Towards Cheating and Personal Information Form. To analyse data t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation tests and Kruksal Wallis H test was used. Type 1 mistake is accepted as 5%. Results: As the results were found women (t(165)=3.360, p=0.001) has higher selfesteem, 3rd grade students has higher self-esteem than 2nd grade (F(3-163)=2.956, p=0.034), the ones who are happy to be educated in Physical Education and Sport Department (PESD) have higher self-esteem level than the ones who are indecisive (x² =10.724, p=0.005), and ones who don’t cheat has higher self-esteem level than the ones who cheat (t(165)=2.104, p=0.037). There is a statistically significant difference in cheating according to the factors of wanting to be educated in another department (t(165)=2.794, p=0.006), and the ones who express themselves as prospective teachers have more positive attitude than the ones who express themselves as students (F(2- 164)=3.096, p=0.048). Research findings show that there is no statistically significant relation between self-esteem and attitudes towards cheating (r=0.027). Conclusion: More consequently results come to the forefront the ones who don’t cheat has higher self-esteem level than the ones who cheat and the ones who express themselves as prospective teachers have more positive attitude than the ones who express themselves as students.
