Abstract:

Employment of students in vocational tourism training in the field where they continue their education has great importance both in terms of career planning and the future of the country's tourism. The purpose of this study carried out is to reveal the impact to their career plans of the nature of employment in the tourism sector among the students in vocational tourism training. A questionnaire created for this purpose was applied to 406 students studying in three different Vocational and Technical High School that give tourism education in Gaziantep in December 2014. The answers to the statements in the questionnaire by the students studying at 9,10,11 and 12th grade levels were analyzed and it was determined that students think that making a career in the tourism sector gives dignity to the individual in society, however assessments of working conditions and finding a job in the industry of students has a negative effect on pursuing careers in the tourism sectors of students. However, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between the desire to work in the tourism sector of the students surveyed and all of the dimensions relating to the quality of employment in the tourism sector
