Abstract:

Dialect, are the smallest language unit that change a language from region to region, from local to region or even from country to country. Giresun dialects is one of the dialects with its own rules. Giresun region is the main home of the Chepni people and there are many words used in the dialects related to ethnicity. In these words, uses related to women has an important place. In Giresun dialects, women sometimes come out as mothers, beloved, sister and ordinary people. This situation is one of the manifestation signs given to the woman in the region. Many language features have been identified in local word types related to women in the dialect of Giresun such as proverb, idiom, prayer, curse, mold, word, riddle. In these uses, the woman is sometimes a head crown, sometimes shifted. There have also been emerging uses that may be contrary to gender equality. In Giresun province and region our women sometimes come out as a women collecting nuts on the field, selling milk on the market, cooking at home and sometimes with children. Women regardless of whether they are positive or negative in local language this situation also reveals the cultural value of women in society's minds. In our work, the language features related to the concept of women in the dialects of Giresun province and region will be grouped. In this regard, the importance of women will be revealed in the dialect of Giresun as well as it will be ensured that these cultural language documents will be recorded without disappearance
