So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Orientalism discipline, which based on old times until existence of the Western and Eastern, was established on struggle for hegemony and conflict of thinking that prevails between the Western and Eastern countries. Nowadays Orientalism’s studies, even if Orientalism was created to discover Eastern and Islamıc worlds at the beginning, after a while it is realized that studies lost theirs objectivity and they focused on only theories. So, it has been started process that produce imaginary and fiction East rather than Orientalism which aim to be known eastern. While Western thought was doing this, they otherised the East, and the East which was othered experienced negative issues. After these events, Orientalism and Orientalists have been started to evaluate with negative perspective and they start to exposure some criticism by scientists. This study is going to investigate theory of the practise and problem that forms othering origin. Firstly, orientalism will be focus on as conceptual and historical. Secondly, Orientalism’s context as sociological content of othering mission will be analysed. Finally, It will be discussed on the othering which become constituent element of orientalism, East-West division, hegemony mechanism and Imaginary East’s perception
