Abstract:

This research has been carried out with the aim of determining the views of women landscape architects who direct and lead to the practices of today's landscape architecture and whether they have experienced discrimination because of being women during their professional lives and whether they have experienced gender discrimination. Women's landscape architects have evaluated the methods they have developed on how to overcome the challenges, by giving a general look at the advantages and obstacles they encounter in the working conditions in the public and private sectors. The study was carried out in March 2011 with the public institution and women and men of the landscape architects working in the private sector who chose the profession of landscape architecture in Turkey. During the work, the Landscape Architects were interviewed face-to-face, and those who were not interviewed face-to-face were reached by electronic mail. In total, 93 survey data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 in a computer environment, the ratings used the "t test" with numbers and percentage accounts. Finally, women who think of the landscape architecture profession discipline have been given information about the landscape architecture profession, landscape architecture programs, potential challenges they will face in the future, career opportunities and ways they will follow to take a more effective role in the profession.
