So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine pre-school teachers’ opinions about gender of teacher in preschool education.  The sample of this study, in which the survey method is used, consists of 88 teachers working in preschool education institutions in Ağrı city center. The sample of the study is determined through accessibility sampling method. Data collected using a written opinion form with six open-ended questions prepared by the researchers were analyzed by descriptive analysis approach. In the study, it is found out that in pre-school education the important point is not the teacher gender but teacher’s professional knowledge and skill, the gender could be important and effective while communicating with the child, the teacher gender is not decisive in choosing the teaching activities, the women are sincerer and their voice tone is effective in communication. Families preferred female pre-school teachers due to their maternal instincts and because they believe that female preschool teachers will communicate better with children. Moreover, it was found out that teacher gender is not an important factor also for school administrators.
