Abstract:

In this study is tried to define university students' attitudes towards reading a book and the factors affecting these attitudes. In the research was participated scale was applied to educational faculity students who are from classroom teaching (59 female and 55 male), social sciences teaching (71 female, 55 male), turkish teaching (71 female, 49 male), mathematics teaching ( 21 female, 7 male), science teacher teaching (15 female, 8 male) in total, 420 students were included in the study. In this study it is found that female students have more positive attitude than male students to read books. Generally, it is appeared to according to classes of students have a positive attitude towards reading. it is seemed that students of third classes students have the most positive attitude towards reading and the students of first classes have the most negative attitude towards reading. When the findings are analyzed at level of departments it was determined that the students of all sections are found to have positive attitude toward reading.
