Economic, social and technological development since the 1970s has influenced working life through out the world and typical forms of employment have been replaced with a typical/flexible work-models. Flexibility aims to adjust working days and hours to conform with demand, to increase firms’ sustainability, to increase efficiency of employment, and to establish a better work-life balancefor employees. However, while the application of flexibility has extended and the application of a typical works chedules have increased over time, these changes have also had a negative effect on worker’s employment rights. Because of this, the need to provide better security for flexibly employed workers has arisen.The aim of this study is to analyse the conditions faced by flexible workers with in thescope of social security and related rights. In the ‘Application’ section of the study, part time employees (who make up the majority of the flexible work force) and full time employees are compared in terms of the monthly pensions for which they qualify, and the cost of upgrading part time employees to basic legal levels of premiums paid to the state is calculated
