Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Huzur ve Otantiklik Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Bu çalışma üniversite öğrencilerinin huzur ve otantiklik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak amacı ile yapılmıştır. Üniversite öğrencilerinin huzur ve otantiklik düzeylerini cinsiyete, sınıf düzeyine, algılanan gelir düzeyine ve anne baba birlikteliği durumuna göre anlamlı farklılık olup olmadığına bakılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim güz döneminde Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Rehberlik ve Psikolojik Danışmanlık, Sınıf Öğretmenliği, Yabancı Diller, Matematik Bölümü ve Fen Bilimleri Bölümü Anabilim Dalı’nda öğrenim gören toplam 488 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak Demirci ve Ekşi (2017) tarafından geliştirilen “Huzur Ölçeği” Wood ve arkadaşları (2008) tarafından geliştirilen İlhan ve Özdemir (2013) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan “Otantiklik Ölçeği” ve araştırmacının kendisi tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgiler Formu” kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubundan elde edilen veriler istatistiki veri seti halinde düzenlenmiş ve SPSS 17 istatistik paket programın da istatistiki analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin dağılımının normalliği çarpıklık ve basıklık değerleri ile Kolmogorov Smirnov testiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Normallik varsayımını karşılamayan değerler nedeniyle Kruskal Wallis ve Mann-Whitney U-Test analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. İki değişken arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek için Spearman Korelasyon Katsayısı analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirmelerde p değeri .05 olarak alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin huzur düzeyi ve otantiklik düzeyi arasında pozitif yönde, orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Huzur düzeyinin cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, algılanan ekonomik durum ve anne-baba birlikteliği durumuna göre anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı bulunmuştur. Otantiklik düzeyinin cinsiyet değişkeni ile anlamlı bir farklılık bulunurken sınıf düzeyi, algılanan ekonomik durum ve anne-baba birlikteliği durumuna göre anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulardan yola çıkılarak literatür kapsamında tartışılarak araştırmacılara ve uygulayıcılara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of exploring the relationship between the levels of peace and authenticity of university students. University students’ levels of peace and authenticity were considered to differ significantly according to gender, class level, perceived income level and the status of parental unity. The research study group formed a total of 488 students studying in the Faculty of Education and Psychological Consultancy, Class Teaching, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Science Department of the Faculty of Education and Sciences in the 2018-2019 educational teaching period. In this study, the "Peace Scale" developed by Demirci and Ekşi (2017) as the data collection tools; the "Authentification Scale" adapted to Turkish by Ilhan and Özdemir (2013) developed by Wood and his friends (2008) and the "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher himself. The data obtained from the work group was organized in a statistical data set and statistical analysis of the SPSS 17 statistical package program was also done. The normality of the distribution of the data obtained in the study was assessed by the Kolmogorov Smirnov test with confusion and compression values. Due to values that do not meet the normality assumption, Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U-Test analysis techniques were used. Spearman Correlation Scorecard analysis technique has been used to study the relationship between the two variables. The value of p is estimated at .5. This study found that there was a meaningful relationship between the level of peace and the level of authenticity of university students in a positive direction, in a medium level. The level of peace has not been found to differ significantly according to gender, class level, the economic situation perceived and the state of parent-parent unity. The level of authenticity is significantly different from the gender variable, but it has not been found that there is no significant difference according to the class level, the economic situation perceived and the status of parent-parent unity. From the findings obtained, it was discussed in the literature framework and recommended to researchers and practitioners.

The Relationship Between Tranquility and Authenticity Levels Of University Students

This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between tranquility and authenticity levels of university students. It has been examined whether there is a significant difference in the level of tranquility and authenticity of university students according to gender, class level, perceived income level and parent-union status. The study group of the study consisted of 488 students studying in Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Education, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Classroom Teaching, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Science Department. İn this study data collection tools were used “Tranquility Scale” developed by Demirci and Ekşi (2017), “Authenticity Scale”, which was adapted to Turkish by İlhan and Özdemir (2013), developed by Wood et al. (2008) and “Personal Information Form” developed by the researcher herself. The data obtained from the study group was organized as statistical data set and statistical analysis of SPSS 17 statistical package program was performed. The normality of the distribution of the data obtained in the study was evaluated with skewness and kurtosis values and Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U-Test analysis techniques were used because of the values that do not meet the normality assumption. Spearman Correlation Coefficient analysis technique was used to examine the relationship between two variables. In the evaluations, p value was taken as .05. In this study, it was found that there was a positive and moderate relationship between the tranquility level and authenticity of university students. It was found that there was no significant difference in the level of tranquility according to gender, class level, perceived economic status and parental union. While the level of authenticity was found to be significantly different with the gender variable, it was found that there was no significant difference according to the level of class, perceived economic status and the relationship of parents. Based on the findings, the participants were discussed in the literature and suggestions were made to the researchers and practitioners.
