Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the advertisements of the accommodation companies that provide job ads on the website tourism.com.tr and to determine the criteria for the selection of staff. For the study, the content analysis was applied to 268 work announcements in certain categories. According to the research, it has been found that accommodation companies intend to hire staff to work more underlying. Many companies have determined that they are looking for staff in the front office department and that they are going to hire more male candidates than women. Other important findings related to the research are that most don’t seek the requirement for minimum education, foreign language or tourism training in the candidates for staff in the announcement. However, it is more important that the candidates have a job experience. According to the results obtained by tourismgazetesi.com.tr, it is determined that the accommodation companies that announce through tourismgazetesi.com.tr tend to employ candidates who are not sufficient in terms of education but have business experience.
