Tarihi İpekyolu, Çin’den Avrupa’ya kadar uzanan 10.000km’lik uzunluğu ile dünyanın en önemli ticaret yollarından biridir. Türkiye, İpekyolu güzergâhında bir köprü görevi görmüş, bu yolu Asya’dan Avrupa’ya bağlamıştır. İpekyolu üzerinde adeta bir mola yeri olan kervansaraylar, şehirler için ticaretin kalbi olmuştur. Denizli, Çardak Han ve Akhan kervansarayları ile İpekyolu güzergâhında yer alan şehirlerimizden bir tanesidir. Çardak Han, Denizli’nin Çardak ilçesinde yer alırken, Akhan Kervansarayı, Akhan Mahallesinde şehir merkezine yakın bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Bu durum Akhan Kervansarayını turizm açısından daha avantajlı bir duruma getirmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Akhan Kervansarayının özelliklerini tanıtarak, tekrar canlandırılması düşünülen Tarihi İpekyolu Projesi’nde Akhan Kervansarayının önemini vurgulamak ve farkındalık oluşturmaktır. Çalışma, için, saha çalışması yapılmış, literatür taraması yapılarak, elde edilen veriler betimsel bir yaklaşımla değerlendirilmiştir.
The ancient Silk Road is one of the most important commercial roads in the world that lies from China to Europe with the length of 10,000km2. Turkey has become a bridge on the route of Silk Road by binding this road from Asia to Europe. The caravansaries on Silk Road were stopovers and they were hearts of trade in the cities. Denizli is one of the cities on Silk Road route with its Chardak Han and Akhan Caravansaries. Chardak Han, is located in Chardak, which is a district of Denizli whereas Akhan Caravansary is in Akhan near the city center, which makes Akhan Caravansary more advantageous in terms of tourism. The aim of this study is laying emphasis on Akhan Caravansary in the ancient Silk Road project that is thought to revive again by introducing the characteristics of Akhan Caravansary. Primary and secondary sources have been scanned, a field study has been done, after a broad literature review, the obtained data have been evaluated qualitative and quantitative approach for this study.
