Abstract:

The trainer's messages are an important factor for the achievement of the common goals that the athlete perceives. In an environment where effective communication processes are made, the trainer-athlete relationship enables athletes to further develop their skills and improve their performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the physical training skills of the teachers or coaches who run the school team in high schools according to the athletic perceptions. The study also sought to determine the gender of athletes, the duration of the association of the employee and the athletes, whether the employee is within or outside of the institution and whether the trainer's communication skills differ in terms of the athlete's perception according to the weekly training period. Research techniques were used in the study. It is an imaginary research. For example, 187 women and 310 men who were athletes in the high school teams studying in the province of Denizli participated voluntarily in a total of 497 (age=16.15±1.17) students. The "Trainer Communication Skills Scale" developed by Yılmaz (2008) as data collection tools and the "Personal Information Form" for the demographic information of the participants was used. According to the research findings, athletes have perceived the communication skills of their physical training teachers or coaches at a very good level. Women’s athletes compared to men; individual athletes compared to team athletes, and those outside the school trainer, compared to those employed by the body training teacher in the school, have perceived their employees’ communication skills more effectively. There was no meaningful relationship between the duration of the employee and the athlete's association and the weekly training time and the coach's communication skills.
