Eski Türk Edebiyatı Profesörü olarak uzun yıllar ders vermiş olan Ali Nihad Tarlan Farsçadan yapmış olduğu çeviriler ile de tanınmaktadır. Farsçadan yapmış olduğu tercümeler arasından en önemlileri Nîzâmî, Fuzûlî, Yavuz Sultan Selim, Nef’î ve Pakistanlı şair Muhammed İkbal’den yaptığı tercümelerdir. Tarlan’ın İran ve Pakistan’da katıldığı kongrelerde Farsça yapmış olduğu konuşmalar ilgili ülkelerin dergilerinde yayımlanmıştır. Ali Nihad Tarlan’ın İran’da dergiler dışında müstakil kitap olarak yayımlanmış iki eseri bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan birincisi Mehmet Akif Ersoy hakkında hazırlamış olan eserin tercümesi diğeri ise Nâilî’nin hayatı, sanatı ve altı gazelinin şerhinden oluşan bir kitaptır. Ali Nihad Tarlan’ın kaleme aldığı bu küçük kitap Hamîd Nutkî tarafından Farsçaya tercüme edilmiştir. Tarlan eserin girişinde Nâilî’nin hayatına kısaca değindikten sonra Sebk-i Hindî adıyla meşhur Hind Üslûbu hakkında bilgiler vermiş ve Nâilî’nin şiirlerini mukayese edebilmek amacıyla bazı Sebk-i Hindî şairlerinin şiirlerinden örnekler vermiştir. İki bölümden oluşan bu makalenin ilk bölümünde Ali Nihad Tarlan’ın Türkiye dışında Farsça olarak yayımlanan çalışmaları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Nâilî hakkında İran’da Farsça olarak yayımlanmış ancak Türkçesi olmayan eser Türkçeye tercüme edilmiştir.

The first is his study on Mehmet Akif Ersoy. The other is his book on the life and poetry of Naili and the commentaries of Naili's six ghazals. Tarlan's short book on Naili was translated into Persian by Hamit Nutki. Tarlan gives a brief biography of Naili in the introduction part. He, then, explains the school of Sebk-i Hindi (the Indian Style) in poetry by giving examples from certain poets of this style and compares Naili's poems with them. This article has two parts. The first part examines Ali Nihad Tarlan's works published outside Turkey. The second includes the Turkish translation of Tarlan's book on Naili in Persian. The book, originally, was written in Turkish, but only its Persian and Urdu translations were published.
